ENTREPRENEURS: Molka Ayadi & Imen Farah

Imen FARAH and Molka AYADI both are architechts. Together, in 2015, they decided to open their own architecture studio « If.ma Architecture & Design » where they discover their passion about conception of creative objects from raw materials especially from cement. So they created Khalta, which is an arabic word meaning « mix » in english.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION : 

Khalta is a creative design studio where they create singular decorative objects made from a unique mixture of cement. They conceive and et produce contemporaty furnitures,objects and accessories 100% handmade by Tunisian artisans.

BUSINESS MODEL :

The conception and manufacturing of the articles are in their own workshops and are distributed as follow:

  • Direct Sale (B2C) via their online shop www.khaltastore.com and their showroom in la marsa. This distribution channel represents 40% of their sales.
  • Indirect Sale (B2B)  (representing 60% of their sales) via Art and Design fairs, Architects, Hotels and Restaurants.

SOCIAL IMPACT MODEL:

Khalta’s recruitment strategy is essentially targeting creative youth, in particular those who quit school in an early age so they can get trained to become able to work in an environment where they unleash their potential.
